In my practice, I strive to achieve the best outcomes by providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and evidence-based therapies. The goal of neuropsychological evaluation is to help patients better understand their cognitive strengths and weaknesses.

Many times, individuals are unsure of what condition may need treatment, or believe their child or a loved one, may have multiple conditions. Given this, a comprehensive evaluation is the right choice.

The information gathered from such an evaluation often provides useful evidence to aid in the diagnosis of neurological disorders. More importantly, the information can also be used to provide recommendations and develop intervention strategies to address current and future needs.

Dr. Arian is a clinical neuropsychologist who works with all age groups and has a special interest in children, adolescents and women including geriatrics. She provides cognitive evaluations to individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions often affecting thinking abilities and memory. She has special clinical interests in autism spectrum disorder, inattention, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, and related disorders.

Neuropsychological & Psychological Assessment Services

The purpose of a comprehensive psychological evaluation is to provide a detailed understanding of a person’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning to help clarify the diagnosis and assist in treatment planning.

Such an evaluation is usually requested by another provider (such as a neurologist, psychiatrist, pediatrician, or therapist) to assist in obtaining a better understanding of the patient, so that treatment can be appropriately tailored to the patient’s needs.

A comprehensive evaluation may be used to more accurately diagnose neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder), depressive and anxiety disorders, as well as other conditions (such as trauma-related problems, impulse control disorders).

As a neuropsychologist, I seek to understand not only the diagnosis, but also how these symptoms and behaviors contribute to problems in the person’s daily functioning, such as at home, work, school, socially, or in other important areas of the patient’s life.

The recommendations are focused on treatment targets and helping to minimize the impact the psychiatric condition has on the person’s functioning.

Therapy  Services

My therapy methods help instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards everyday situations. Therapy is a healing process. Therapy is about making small changes to often self-defeating behaviors and coping with feelings such as anxiety and depression.

Women’s issues are often treated with psychotherapy, which is essentially talk-therapy or counseling. Women's issues can refer to any concern that might impact a woman’s mental health.

Child counseling focuses on young children and adolescents with one or more mental illnesses. Many of children's issues are similar to those that adults face in their day-to-day lives. Some of these common issues include anxiety, depression, and loss. Child counseling often breaks down overwhelming problems into smaller manageable parts, so children can better understand and cope with them.

Your rights under the "No Surprises Act" explained.

Effective January 1, 2022, a ruling went into effect called the "No Surprises Act" which requires practitioners to provide a "Good Faith Estimate" for out-of-network care. Although the Act was targeted towards hospitals where there are often multiple practitioners with different insurance affiliations, independent psychologists and mental health providers must also comply. This notice is designed to inform you of your rights. Please do not hesitate to follow up if you have any questions about how the information applies to your care. Please also refer to the CMS website (http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises) as rules are continuing to be developed and announced.
